Hi I wanna run a internet cafe were people come into my place use the internet(computer) and i charge them plus i wanna have a internt cafe which run's it self were people pay into a machine and get a code which let's them acess the computer for the amount they payed pleaes tell in plain simple english no jargon with that EQUIPMENT/SOFTWERE i need ti run my business |

Hi, I've been thinking about this too. here is my plan of action for my setup. An easy way to get started is to use the edubuntu server install CD and perform a ltsp setup. This gives a discless client environment, plus you can enable and disable each workstation easily. auto-logout, sending notification reminders that time is running out. and using power on lan to turn workstations back on again. or enable/disable user accounts. |

It is not really recommended as it is a pretty big risk. If someone does anything illegal using your internet then you the account holder will be responsible. Also, people will not pay to use the internet in public, especially if you are in the city as thee is almost full coverage of open access points, many of which their systems will connect to automatically. Most places use internet as an incentive, for example, You come to my coffee shop and you can use the wifi for free (just be sure to buy some drinks :) ) many places do it, even burger king and mcdonalds. Places that charge for internet access died out nearly 12 years ago when many people did not have internet access and computers were very expensive, so people will go to places where they can pay and use a computer for an hour or so. |
