there are certain aspects of it that are better than a netbook but a netbook is (ironically) more powerful.

It depends what you're doing and what you like. If you like touchscreen devices, the iPad. If you like a REAL keyboard that's attatched right to the screen, a netbook. In don't think thee iPad will kill netbooks. I think netbooks will die on their own because they're simply no good.

You think netbooks have real keyboard? Haha! I can hardly fit one hand on there!

the iPad does not have a real keyboard, it has a virtual one, and bubble, is no smaller than the one on the iPad when its sideways and atleast if you dont like it you can plug on in

I agree I will always prefer tacticle controls over a touchscreen or flapping your arms at a camera. I never understand why these have more general appeal. Why should controls require sight and touch when touch is enough?

I don't think it's going to kill notebooks, without flash it won't kill them entirely at least. Just get an iPad if you need one and a laptop if you need one.

yes.

well.. actually, not just the iPad necessarily..but just tablets in general i believe will. But since the iPad is the first and still really the only real tablet computer and is leading the tablet crusade, i think it would be fair to say that it will be because of the iPad that netbooks will die.

The tablets will need to run some type of full OS or a modified OS so people can download and install what they wish, of course that may just be what I want.

I would agree. Which is why I said not even necessarily the iPad will, just tablets in general. I. The nearr future I'm sure we will see some great tablets where people can download and install what they wish :)

I was hopeful of that HP Slate until it was canceled and may have had some speed issues. I can always see tablets in general being very popular as they are just easy to use.

Not completely, a netbook rums a full OS which many people want, typing is faster on a netbook unless you have the keyboard for the Ipad, netbooks are cheaper. However I hear people that have netbooks and the Ipad say they use their Ipad more because it is easier, I imagine if I just wanted to check some sites, video music movies games etc.. I could see how it would just be easier to use the Ipad. Even though I do not currently want an Ipad (I would use it if I had one) I am looking forward to what each new model will bring. For now the Iphone and netbook will do fine.

When the right apps are there it will replace the net-books with easy. Apple had made the IPad an easy to use device. It might not be hardware wise more powerful than most net-books but the way IOS is implemented it gives more power from the hardware than certain net-books do. On a net-book you'd be going slow on a 1Ghz single core processor. but on the IPad it feels extremely fast. Plus the most net-books have an graphics card that is capable of displaying web pages and 460P video. The IPad can easily play games and play 720P videos.
