It would be better is people were smart enough to ignore stuff like race and religion and vote simply on who ever can do the best job.

Why? Whenever the topic of that guy in the White House comes up and no going in his favor --- the question changes focus?

This question was about his hypothetical Muslim faith, and if it really would have mattered.

Being Muslim doesn't make you a terrorist, but it may cloud judgement/may make sympathy to terrorists' actions.

Religion shouldn't cloud judgment but because of how people generally think, they look to find reasons in unreasonable things. If some crazy people do some stupid crap for no reason, people will try to find something that links the stupidity, in the case of many of the terrorist, many of them are Muslim. With this kind of widespread ignorance, if a group of people were to attack the city while eating happy meals from McDonald's, Everyone most of America will start to think that eating a happy meal will make you into a terrorist.

or if the attacking group were to all wear Nike sneakers, people will say that those sneakers will make you into a terrorist.

Just because 2 events happen consecutively does not mean that A caused B.

Religion will most likely cloud Obama's judgement. That's why U.S.A. military personnel of the Muslim faith are screened. If you were a person of Muslim faith, could they depend on your judgement & actions to protect & serve, even kill?!?

But when will that really happen?

I wouldn't care, but sadly it would affect many people's judgement of him.

Voting based on religion is always wrong. Politics and religion should be seperated, always. It doesn't matter if Obama is a christian or muslim or whatever. As long as he is a good leader and makes good decisions, it's all good. Black, white, gay, straight, etc, should NOT matter at all.

Also, what's up with people thinking that every muslim is a terrorist. Is every christian a crusador?

Also, Obama is the best thing to happen to the US in years.

Think of all the Muslims that have literally nothing to do with terrorism, but just have the same religion as a typical extremist. Not all muslims are terrorists. There are Christian terrorists, too. But everyone seems to ignore them.

in America, most of the prison population is made up of Christians, does that mean Christianity is a criminal religion?

Don't let a few jerks spoil a religion for everyone. All religions have groups of people who feel an uncontrollable need to to something stupid. Not much can be done about them other than ignoring them (deny them the attention that they seek).

Ended the Iraq war. Created jobs for the first time in 7 years by stimulating the economy. he's pulling us out of the recession. Reformed health. Trying to cut down lines that divide this country, like having democrats against republicans, he works really hard to get us to work together. He has acted like a leader, not like a politician like all those dumbass republicans in the Senate would dont get crap done because they're to worried about getting re-elected -- he doesn't care, and is doing what he thinks is best, which i really really admire. He is having america invest in clean energy, in transportation. he is working to get companies, like auto companies and battery companies etc. to build there products here and not in China. he wants products 10 years from now to say MADE IN USA not MADE IN CHINA. thats great of him. he's passed wall street reform. he's strengthened international relations to an extent we cant even comprehend. he embraced technology. Im leaving out so much he's done. he saved this country. You think you could do a better job? you'd be a liar if you said yes..

Does Obama have the ability to give the order to kill former fellow muslims?

Religion will most likely cloud Obama's judgement. That's why U.S.A. military personnel of the Muslim faith are screened. If you were a person of Muslim faith, could they depend on their judgement & actions to protect & serve, even kill a fellow muslim?!?

Actually, it would matter. Barack Hussein Obama II ran for President of the United States of America as a Christian. If he is truly a Muslim, then those voters who voted based on religion, should be allowed to take their vote back.

That election should then be invalid, and a new elections be held.

he's not, it was hypothetical. and should they? it would have been their fault for voting based off religion then politics, and withdrawing their votes just because of prejudice. what about the seperation of church and state? i know it doesn't apply here, but i dont think they would be allowed to do that.. what if he said he changed his religion in "office" like say this year, he decided to become a muslim..we couldnt kick him out for that. nor should we.

Voting based on religion is NOT a fault. It's an important issue!

"I've been to the same church _ the same Christian church _ for almost 20 years," Obama said, stressing the word Christian and drawing cheers from the faithful in reply. "I was sworn in with my hand on the family Bible. Whenever I'm in the United States Senate, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. So if you get some silly e-mail ... send it back to whoever sent it and tell them this is all crazy. Educate."

If he's truly a Muslim, then that another lie to the American Voters.

It's also a factor of where his loyalties are. The Jewish-American voters wish they could take their votes back. His actions show that he is a racist, sides with Palestine, etc.

Its this kind of mentality that has been pushing me away from religion. The minute we start drawing lines in the sand and put people below us, we are doing the exact opposite of what we should be doing. I think that when people think somebody is not worthy of leading this free nation just because of their religion, then we've failed as a society.

The pictures should NOT be offensive. They're pictures of Obama & Muslim ties, but out of respect to you --- I'll agree to just post the links to the photos as a compromise =0p...

There's more that Obama is NOT saying!

Don't turn your back on the truth!

(Aug 27 '10 at 19:16) r0bErT4u r0bErT4u's gravatar image

please rObErT4u, i really do not want links to certain propaganda that are unpatriotic on the wall of my question. And i especially do not want photos that some people, including myself, take offense to on my question wall. So I would appreciate it if you respect me by not reposting these images, which we both know, are misleading. Thank you. I don't need some fight with you about it or something. Just be respectful, and dont post rude and offensive materials. I would much more appreciate it if you posted your own thoughts/photos instead of content from other webpages. An answer means more to a person when it was humanly writen with thought, rather then simple copy and pasted here from a different website. So thanks again for your understanding, and if you want to be offensive, do it else where.

I'd still don't understand what it matters which religion someone has if he does his job well that should be enough. I understand the whole 9/11 thing but really you shouldn't judge someone over his religion just how he does his or he does his job.

Socially yes, because our country is in the mind set that if you have a certain outlook on life then you should be hated. But in reality no one cares as long as it doesn't affect them.
