How to strike back with words?

How to strike back with words? Have you found yourself in a position where someone harasses you? For example tells you something that you don't like and you can't find a way to make him stop? I've had, that's why I'm asking. Any suggestions?

It depends on the situation to be honest.

A comeback always relates to what the person said to you, so there is no correct example of what a comeback should be like. I guess coming up with a good comeback requires a person to be good with language and funny.

I know and I totally agree with you! Striking back with the words from his/her own mouth would probably shut him up (no offense) quicker.

I totally agree with you as it's not a problem for me to accomplish it. But I'm a very calm person and upsetting me is hard, and I usually hit the other one when he strikes me. Also you get advantage when he attacks you first (for example at the police).

Well this seems like your being bullied. If this is a daily thing. Where he is harassing you constantly. Verbally or Physically. A good hook to the jaw will probably fix it. If he try's to headlock you, drop to the ground and get your thumbs into his eyes and pop them. This is all in self defense of course. If he's on top of you grab 1 of his wrists and pull him closer, then use your other hand to choke him. No one can predict what can happen so its best to be prepared. Of course if it still stays in the verbal stage just make fun of him. "Foo with your pants on the ground, looking like a fool with yo pants on the ground". Yeah I never got into too many verbal fights in my life time. I dont recommend violence nor starting it. But if he starts hitting you physically, you should hit back. The jaw, the side of the head, the pelvis. There had been some times where, I had been in fights in the street starting from verbal fights. It was winter I was with my friends throwing snow balls at each other as we went to Burger King. Then we meet these 2 strange people, then they joined us. Eventually I got them a few times and 1 of them began calling me "Chino." Which is odd because none of them were of Spanish decent. Then 1 of them charges up to me and grabs both my arms, infront of me. We held each others arm and he tried to headbutt me. I avoid it and then spin him around, then punch him one in the face and dropped him. Then I told my friends lets go to Burger King already. Anything can happen on the street or in school. I would recommend either just laying low or don't fight back. I don't want to promote fighting as the answer but it works. I never say that guy again. You can get hurt fighting for yourself and even die. It is illegal to fight outside of sports. I am sorry I didnt have much more to offer.

Usually the jaw and the side of the head are the places you'd want to hit. I think that if you'd make a successful hit at the throat then he'd be on the ground in no-time. Believe me, I would probably prefer fighting with hands than with words. In every fight I've been in, I've always won. Btw what "Chino" means?

The best thing to do is walk away and ignore it. Shows that you are the more mature person. :)

True, but if this - for example - happens at school it's not just the matter of walking "away". I'd walk away at the street if someone tells me anything, because I will never see that person again, but the school is a different thing.

True. But when you walk away, or ignore the bullying, the bully will get tired of it, because he/she gets you are able to ignore it and are not "hurt" but the bullying.

But bullying sucks, always. It's horrible.

@Hanhart I went through hell when I was at school, I always hated people telling me to just ignore them for two reasons:

1.It doesn't work.

2.Bulling is a problem, can you honestly tell me you have ever solved a problem by ignoring it?

From my personal experience I have to say also, that ignoring is the most ignorant and the stupidest way to deal with bullies. I can't tell how many times I've seen videos of how to deal with bullies - all of them said to: run away (go to the teacher), say NO STOP or DON'T (haha really?). You'd only get laughed at more...

Comebacks are not very good if you want to make that person shut up, it would most likely start an argument. However most comebacks are funny so you want to make it funny .

I'm just trying to advise the correct choice of words in response. Sometimes, people can be too sensitive. Some name calling is abuse, and needs to be answered back with ACTION; NOT WORDS!

Other situations where silence will save you injury & bodily harm.

More detail is needed to advise correctly.

I apologize for my bad attempt at humor. If you're being bullied by kids that are too strong to fight against physically --- I'd advise a different retaliation strategy.

Do some intellingence work, and obtain data on your enemies.
Hacking is illegal {cough, cough} and you shouldn't LOGIC BOMB
Sending eMail Bombs & other harmful code are also illegal {cough, cough}

I get where you're pointing at. Fighting would not be a problem for me, but I'm a very calm and peaceful person and I've never attacked the other person first. Btw your suggestion is a good idea {cough, cough}. Weakening the enemy and then attacking is far more efficient than attempting head-on. Thanks!

Hehe, the only problem is that my classmates hm... how do you put it in. Let's say, are non-tech persons. I doubt that they've even heard about processors and icons ;) Wonder how they should have e-mail addresses?
