If I need a computer, I'd buy the computer.

If I need a big TV, I'd buy the big TV.

When I needed both recently, I went with the largest iMac and a reasonably good sized TV (42") that was priced well because it's not a bleeding edge, wafer thin, 3D whiz-bang set, it's just a nice solid plasma HDTV.

I would get the one I need.

If I needed an iMac, I would get the iMac. If I needed a 3D TV, I would get the TV.

Since I can't stand 3D, I would go with the iMac anyway. ;)

I recommend that you get the iMac, because 3D is not going to catch on like most people think. The reason why you should get the iMac is because it has more potential in the future. There have only been a couple of really good 3D movies that have ever been invented, and if you don't watch them, then it looks really crappy. I believe that TVs should stay 2D, because we won't have to worry about a lot of stuff, like breaking your special 3D glasses. Have you ever sat on a remote controller. Imagine what would happen if it were your glasses...

3D glasses are about 50p, remote's are a lot more.

What tv do you have now?

if you have a tv that you are not satisfied with but a computer that you are good with, then get the tv.

While you may never use the 3d, it will still be a good TV

But if you need a computer and are ok with the overpricing of the imac then get one. No matter how good a TV is, it cant beat the enjoyment you get from using a computer.

iMac. imo, 3D is just another stupid craze that will go away within the next 5 years. i don't see any point to it.

I don't even think it will last 5 years. 3D has been tried and failed many times in the past. It causes too much of a loss in quality and it makes content look less realistic.

Go with imac. 3D is all hyped out to be expensive. My friend got one and he was pretty disappointed.

Hmm... My first instinct is the 3D HD TV. But, after thinking about it, if I already have a good HDTV, I would get the iMac. If I didn't, I would get the 3D HD TV. If I had a good iMac, I would get the 3D HD TV, and vise-versa.

What ever one you need the most. I would personally go with the computer, depending on the specs of course. If you can get a very nice iMac, get it. You'll have more fun with the computer than you will just watching TV or Movies. You always have to realize how much more you can do with a computer.

You can watch Movies, TV shows, listen to music, watch youtube videos, make youtube videos, etc.

That's a big TV, and I really don't think I have the space for it. But if I needed a computer, I'd get that. If I needed a TV, I'd MAKE room in my living room.
