Bringing Down the House (book): The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions is a book by Ben Mezrich about a group of MIT card counters commonly known as the MIT Blackjack Team. While represented as non-fiction by Mezrich and Free Press, the book contains significant fictional elements. Many of the key events propelling the drama did not occur in the real life; others were exaggerated greatly.[1] 21 (2008 film) inspired by the true story of the MIT Blackjack Team as told in Bringing Down the House, the best-selling book by Ben Mezrich.
Counting Cards is NOT illegal. As a matter of fact, it's rather easy. If you can add (+1), subtract (-1), divide by number of decks in the shoe, then you can count cards. You're NOT memorizing every card, but rather keeping track of the High|Low ratio ratio of the cards. |

If you don't like reading, have you tried audiobooks? Lots of geeky books are available at Audible.com. I recommend anything by Neal Stephenson, especially Cryptonomicon. |

I consider myself a tech geek, and I really enjoyed Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol". Its not really techy but it has characteristics that i think a geek would enjoy like using real life science. The science used in the book is really interesting, its very descriptive and is definitely a good read. I would recommend it to anyone. |
