Right so I got 2 processors here and I am deciding which one.

Ok the specifications for the Intel pentium D is;

Intel Pentium D 805 Smithfield (Dual core) 2.66GHz x2/ Front side bus 532MHz/ 2x16KB L1 data cache/ 2x1024 KB L2 cache

Intel core 2 duo is;

Intel core to duo E6400 conroe @ 2.13GHz/ Front side bus 1064 MHz/ 2x32 KB L1cache/ 2048 KB L2cache

Now from what I know its all about the treads(or cores) the FSB and Cache which makes the computer fast.

But I am asking you all now which one is worth putting into my computer? Both processors work on this MOBO and at the moment I am using the Core2duo because I think it's the best one out the 2.

So do you think I should stick to my Core2duo or have the PentiumD805?

It is a dual core mate, I even have the CPU-z.HTML file. I have used both before.

even though the core 2 dou is slower it will perform faster than the pentium d i had the same situation u were in my friend how ever i did some research and found out that a core 2 dou running at 2.4ghz out performs a pentium D at 3.2ghz with all the results i took this into mind and upgraded to the core 2 dou and even though it has a slower clock speed it is so so so so so so much faster than my older pentium d at 3.2ghz this is simply becasue of more clocks per cycle and the new chip set design and layout of the cpu trust me on this use the core 2 dou i have personal experience on this my self core 2 dou will out perform the pentium d

Thanks mate, that's all I needed to convince me. Personally, I though that the core2duo was quicker, I just wanted to make the right decision.
