OKay...i know this sounds stupid..but im pretty much addicted to chocolate chip poptarts. The main problem is..each poptart has over 200 calories. I can go through a whole box of them a day...and on average a box of 16 will last 2 days.if im lucky(rarely). So..how to a break my addiction to this lovely pastry. there is a fresh box in the cupboard...im trying my best to leave it alone. Any ideas.

I would suggest stop buying them. Or start eating some other foods so you aren't always hungry. |

You can start by slowing down your intake of pop tarts, go from a whole box to 4/5 of the box, then slowly downward. |

I'm like that with biscuits, if I buy a pack, they won't last a night! Just think of all the bad stuff that's in them. Addiction is just a habit (in this case), so really you like them a lot and it probably feels good to eat them so your body wants to keep doing it. Try to do something else. You can give into temptation, but instead of picking the pop tarts up, pick out the coffee or make a soft drink. Drinking any liquid is better than 16 pop tarts. Your body can also get into the habit of eating a lot if you are dehydrated. I think your supposed to drink 2 - 3 pints of water a day. Go for a walk and get out the house for a bit, takes your mind off it. If your at the store go for sweet fruit like oranges or bananas. An orange can often be just as satisfying as chocolate. |

I suggest turning to peanut butter then to jam then to strawberries |

Quit cold turkey or limit yourself to one a day. Otherwise, do something to penalize yourself every time you have one -- add a disincentive to eat so many. Suggestion: Every time you eat one you have to do 10 push-ups or situps. Or if that's too easy, then multiple the number of Pop Tarts you've had so far by 10 and that's the number of push-ups you after you eat one. So the first Pop-Tart of the day = 10 pushups/situps, the second Pop-Tart of the day = 20 pushups/situps, the third... = 30 pushups/situps, and so on. I'd get really sick up Pop-Tarts if I did that, and you'd be throwing in some exercise which is never a bad idea anyway. |

Learn about HFCS and try like the dickens to avoid anything with it in it. At 43, I had gout pretty bad at an early age. My doctor told me to try really hard to reduce my daily HFCS intake. The number one item on that list was soda pop. To my surprise, it worked! |

i ate 2..........................
make that 5..........
okay...i think i may have beaten it..only time will tell
What did you replace them with?
water for the most part...you defiantly don't feel as hungry when you drink lots of water
