I currently have a Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66Ghz processor in my P6X58D Premium motherboard. The core i7-930 2.8Ghz would not cost me very much difference if I sold my 920 to upgrade. Do you think it's worth my time and effort?

If you actually need that extra little bit of power and you can sell the one you have easily, then it's worth it. But if you're okay with what you have now, or it would be hard to sell, I'd keep it.
Keep in mind, CPU's aren't a very easy thing to sell unless you go on Ebay. But if someone is gonna pay close to what it's worth if they get it from Intel, they're gonna do that.
So if you try to sell it, your asking price will have to be substantially lower than what Intel sells it for.

I would say wait a little bit. The Core i7 950 should be coming down substantially in price in the near future and should be in range of those. It would offer a much greater performance increase than the 930.
