The U.S. Department of Agriculture's "Food Safety and Inspection Service" website will always have the latest information on all food-related recalls in the United States of America: http://www.fsis.usda.gov/fsis_recalls/

Information about egg safety and Salmonella is on that page and you can sign up for email alerts to be informed when new recalls are issued.

Incidentally, for consumer product-related recalls (everything from vehicles and children's toys to Over-the-Counter medications), you can sign up for email alerts from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerel.html
