Who wins google chrome against Apple's Safari. I choose Safari. In fact I do all of my things on Safari. However you may use A different Web browser. In that case which one do you use and which one do you think is the best internet browser of all time?

I like to use Google Chrome as its basic and fast, no annoying tool- bars just what you need, I do like Opera and Safari, and occasionally use them from time to time.

I absolutely love Safari, but Apple doesn't develop for Linux, which is what the computer that I'm on now is running. I'm in school right now, and I am on my laptop which is running Ubuntu Linux.

At my home office, I have an iMac, and a Powermac G4. I prefer to use Safari, because I like the experience of it better. I like the web-space to window size aspect ratio; It is so much better than any other web browser.

I am currently using Opera on m Ubuntu Laptop, because it fits the theme of Ubuntu, while Chrome for Linux, doesn't match the theme. It's not that big of a thing, but it's enough to make me not use it as my primary browser.

I, have tried Safari... I thought it was AMAZING!LY slow. Or at least, amazingly slow compared to Opera and Chrome. The layout is a thing of pure beauty, but wow - it really lacks on the speed side of things.

I am on a mac and I'm currently in the transition from Safari to Chrome. I have used Safari for most of the past two years, but now I am slowly moving over to chrome. Their are a few features I prefer in Safari, but for the most part I am using chrome for its nice user interface (which is customizable :) ) and for its ease of use and speed.

I prefer Safari. Its pretty basic and doesn't get in your way.

Although with v4 and now v5 i see it starting to see more and more extra features packed in... bloat.

Safari because it is a better browser... for me. Chrome is a lighter browser with less features.

I have tried both. I do think Google Chrome is slightly more or just as fast as Safari.

chrome b/c there are no add ons to slow anything down, its all compact and tidy, address bar and google search bar are one, it's just fantastic. unlike IE, where all those addons clog up the screen till the point where you cant see a webpage :(

Chrome is based on the apple Webkit Rendering Engine. So as far as i'm concerned chrome is just google's version of safari.

Chrome is more of a Firefox than a Safari, but yes, they both use webkit. There are still many other things that the browser consists of.

Why on earth does 64bit make it any better?

(Aug 19 '11 at 21:46) eddieringle eddieringle's gravatar image

well do some test or look at some benchmark, about 64bit vs 32bit safari, 64bit is generally faster, although you may notice it only in some areas, javascript run faster in 64bit, also it use memory better, try to open activity monitor on osx, and do some test. and overall, almost everything on mac osx lion is in 64bit today. on windows anyway i would still pick chrome and firefox over safari.

64bit does not always mean faster, and in the case of browsers, the speed difference is usually negligible. Also, it does not use memory better, depending on the program. In 64bit the same data actually occupies more space in memory, due to the way memory is addressed.

Firefox. Safari is horrible, Chrome is Slow. And obviously Internet Explorer 9 FTW!
