What languages and tools are used to program an AI? I find the topic very interesting. To be able to make semi-self aware intelligences that can do problem solving evolve etc... would be very intriguing and fun. Please don't talk about Skynet lol. And articles well any literature in general on the topic would be greatly appreciated. =D

You can use just about any language that can perform basic operations. This could be C/C++, C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, you name it. I bet it'd be possible to write one up with JavaScript as well. I answered a very similar question just a few minutes ago. Google will be your friend on this endeavor. Also, I'd like to point you to Stack Overflow. They have a programming based, much more sane Q&A site there. If you were to post a similar question there, they'd either point you to another site that does have what you're looking for, or (hopefully) get down to business and answer your question.

Good luck!
