We all know that Microsoft has become the underdog in the past few years, and it would reflect the few years Steve Balmer has been CEO of MS... They have lost their status as the big evil corporation and instead that title has been giving to the all conquering Apple and Steve jobs. Windows Vista was a complete flop, The Microsoft Kin died within weeks, the Surface has never really surfaced (See wha I did there?)... The aggression of MS has long since disappeared since Bill left the company a few years ago. There seems to be no new real revelations under Balmership. Anyways, the question is, how long do you think Balmer will control the reigns and who will take his place? Do you think that Bill will do a Jobs and return to the top of the company to "save" the company, or do you think he will just say "Meh, let them get on with it?"..It is after all the company he started... Will we perhaps see in years to come MS loosing so much marketshare to the Mac or another platform that Apple will save them just like MS saved Apple back in 97? The irony huh? hehehe Anyways, lets have a good discussion on the matter :) I |

Microsoft is far from being the underdog, and they won't be the underdog for many, many years to come. Microsoft has been producing a lot of things under Ballmer's leadership, but they simply aren't getting the press coverage that Apple gets. |

You're comparing Apples to Oranges {cough, cough} --- Microsoft is still the reigning King of the Personal Computer (PC) Industry. Windows {Choose your flavor} is loaded in the majority of systems all over the world. Microsoft SYNC is integrated into FORD & other automobiles. Windows CE/Windows Embedded are alive & well ... more
In regards to Bill Gates coming back, maybe?! Steve Ballmer has his way of doing things. Steve Jobs has his way of doing things. One company gives back to the world, the other company isn't know to give back {not even close}. One company has multiple suicide/suicide attempts, the other nothing to memntion out of the norm. One company loves to be the Attention Whore/Control Freak Drama Queen, while the other could care less about being in the spotlight ... more. They're very different companies with different styles of running their businesses. |

It would be nice but Bill Gates retired. He wasn't laid off like Steve Jobs. |
