I'd suggest you go to a retailer (or your current carrier) and try out an Android phone. Find the one that is right for you. If none of them fit the bill, try an iPhone 4, and see if that makes you happy. If you're not happy with any of those, look at the new Windows Phone 7.

I'm pretty sure between the iPhone 4 or an Android phone, you'll find the one you're looking for.

If I suggested a phone (like the new Droid X) that would be all on opinion. But, seriously, it's a good phone. Also, the Droid 2 is powerful, and also has a slide out physical keyboard that you're used to with the BlackBerry phones. It's all really your personal preference. You have to go play with the phones in the store to see what you'd really love.

Android is the new Windows, but for phones.

For overall functionality, the android is the best. If you want a phone that has a well designed UI and are willing to jailbreak, then get the iphone, with the stock setup, it is about as useful as having a slice of cheese for a CPU heatsink. But after jail breaking, it becomes a true smartphone.
