I was wondering because im tired with windows vista and i don't have enough money to buy windows 7 but luckily i have windows xp so is it okay if i downgrade from vista to xp, i have backed up all my work in my external hard drive too. THANKS!!!!!!!! |

Yes. You can put any os on the machine you like. However you may need drivers for specific components. I checked the HP website and there are XP drivers for your machine so it should be fine. The downgrade might even keep them all working anyway. |

I would recommend jest saving up for 7. You cant upgrade from XP to 7 anyway. But I think you should be able to. I don't like vista too. |

I have a desktop (main computer) with Windows 7 (upgraded from Vista) and a laptop with XP. The reason I bring this up is because my Laptop is about 5 years old. I recently upgraded the RAM from 512MB to 2GB. But I don't want a large OS on it. XP is lightning fast since the re-installation. It's small enough to be fast yet powerful enough to do everything I need to do. Both computers are HP by the way. So yes, it should handle it and I would do it. |
