I know its required to live but can your body literally forget how to breathe? |
No, it's impossible. Even if you were to faint from not breathing, you're body would automatically start breathing. That is, of course, not applied if you're underwater. |
No. it is medically impossible. You can forget to breathe. but not forget how to breathe. |
no because you are born breathing so no you can't forget to breathe |
yes hold you nose and Knock yourself out and wake up and you forgot everything |
Its impossible. You will breathe in oxygen 24/7, even if something happens to your lungs, your body will keep trying to breath in as much oxygen as it can to maintain homeostasis. The only way you can stop breathing is when you are dead. |
Its highly unlikely , the only way it could happen is if some how your central nervous system (i.e. brain, spinal cord, etc.) went badly wrong. it is sort of a reflex reaction , and you don't need to be concious to breath , so if you forgot to know how to breath you would probably have bigger problems. |
Breathing is natural, it just happens. For example, you can not kill yourself from holding your breath, you would first be knocked out from loss of oxygen. But then after you are knocked out, you would breath. |
It's impossible. Just like it's impossible to suffocate yourself by holding your nose and breath. The brain sends responses to your hands to let go of your nose, and responses to your mouth to open. Your brain will literally force you to breath. Cheers, Chattem |

In contrary to Dolphin's (which have to be consious to breathe) we can go out cold and we still breathe. This phenomenon happens because the muscles which control our breathe are on auto-pilot sortof. |
