Personally I feel It's very stale. But thats how I feel about all of Chris's sites. I think it's it time for him to pay a pro to do some layout work instead of asking the community to chip in. Thats just me tho. Let me know what you think.

Lockergnome.net isn't exciting, but I don't mind it and the ads don't bother me because I know this is how Chris makes money. On the other hand chris.pirillo.com, I find a bit cluttered whenever I try to read an article, sometimes I can't find what I'm looking for on that site.. But for not paying anyone to do anything I think all of Chris' sites look good. Although I think he might need to find some people in the community who have a bit more time to donate or as you said hire a professional. |

When I first read this question, my reaction was --- WTF!?! Who is this rude person 'Lee Navarrette' posting Smack from the GET GO! I stepped away from the computer, processed the question, and returned. I hangout in LockerGnome.net as a Guest. As a Guest, one should have respect for the owner & their place. This question is like going to a party, then telling other guests that you think this place is stale. You continue to state that all the owner's parties are stale, and that the owner should do this & that. To answer the question, the layout of Chris' places are just fine. LockerGnome.net is only a few months old, and just passed 10,000 questions. A redesign would probably change the look & feel of Chris' places, thus turn into something other than a place to hangout, Ask/Answer questions. 2
Good point, and we aren't paying for the sites, so we can't really complain. As I said in my post the only thing I would change is chris.pirillo.com a bit to make it a bit less cluttered. 1

See I don't feel that way, When you decide to post your work on the internet you take on the knowledge that someone will always criticize what you do. My intention is not to offend Chris but to give him feedback. I like Chris and think he is a very professional man and I respect that he may do what he wants with his personal part of the internet. But coming from Yahoo answered and looking at how fresh and colorful it is then coming to Lockergnome.net it just feels like the best way to give it a running start would be to give it a little eye candy. I must admit tho I enjoy the environment that Chris has provided, We all talk and give each other feedback so well and if I had to decide where to post a question that I feel I would get valuable answers from, I would always come to Lockergnome.net first. I find it busy, cluttered, and not too pretty. The additional ads are only making it worse. I agree that a cosmetic overhaul would be an improvement to the user experience. Check out Aardvark |
I wish I had the ability to design OSQA, believe me - so if you have a set of mockups you could allow me to pass along to the theam, I would be more than willing to help facilitate something better!
I think he wants more images, and less color boxes. Color boxes for the win. :)
Your right Chris and now that I read back on my Question I feel bad because it came out in a mean way and I hope I did not offend you that was not my point I love your sites and everything you do, But LockerGnome name means a lot to me and I want it too shine above all other sites.

Yea sorry about that, It's not nearly a popular question. I have an auto refresher for things like Ebay and it was on on my laptop when I left this question open for responses....I fail sorry....I prob should delete it I don't wanna take away from someone else's popular question thats no fair.
Thanks for confessing...maybe contact Chris about it and see if he can remove some of the fake hits? It is a good question though and I don't think you should delete it...
