Is it DDR2 RAM or DDR3 RAM? That makes a big difference, although I think $170 for 6GB of either is a pretty good deal.

Yeah, I think so. It comes out to be about $56 a stick which isn't too bad. I just did a quick search and for a 3pack like that here a lil cheaper.

The memory on newegg is faster, it is a CL 7 version while the one you linked to is the CL 8 version

It is good. When buying memory, the most important things to look for is the clock speed and memory timings, and if you plan to overclock then also look into how far the memory can be overclocked.

For the price, it offers good timings but I could not find much info on it's overclocking so you will have to find the overclock limit your self.

while different brands of memory can perform differently, in pretty much all cases, the speeds differences are negligible across brands when the memory has the same timings and clock speed.

thanks I found in overcloking that the memory frequency was 2976MHz, . Keeping the processor temperature below -80°C.
