I am taking a class where we were supposed to use visio for a project. I planned on doing the project in a computer lab at the school I go to but turns out visio is not installed on the computers here. I did notice that MS visual studio 2008 is installed. Are they the same or could they be used to do the same thing? |

No, Visual Studio is a programing IDE (Integrated Development Environment), it's where you create and develop the application. Visio is for the design process, you use it to visual show the concepts and workflow of the product through diagramming. Such as showing the workflow or process of the application launching. After you have it down and well thought out, you then move over to Visual Studio to finally create the product.

I don't really know but just looking at the word Visio, it's like Vis- for the first 3 words of Visual and io- for the last 2 words of studio. As I said I don't know but these "abbreviations" give me the information that Visual Studio and Visio are the same... |
