I am crowd-sourcing to ask the community how you go about remembering September 11, 2001. Is there a certain way you remember or is there a local event that you go to? Did you lose anybody in the WTC/Terrorist Attacks? |
I tend to commemorate things internally. I don't go to events or services. I choose to reflect on my own, light a candle, and offer up a prayer to my higher power. |
I check my Credit Score every year on that day. I don't believe it's a good thing to commemorate negative things (I'm not saying forget). |

9/11..well let's see...I was in fourth grade when it happened. I live in south jersey so NYC is only a few hours from here. They closed school early...didn't tell us what was going on...I just remember the world got a lot quieter...more somber. It wasn't until I was in the 6th grade when we went to war I fully understood what had happened. A few days after the strike on the WTC I was at my aunts house and I remember seeing the footage on the news...I knew something was wrong and I distinctly remember crying. Hard to believe it's been all these years.... |

I was in first grade. I can't remember it that well, but we were released early. All I can remember is being extremely confused. |
I go about my normal life on September 11 each year, with a short period of reflection around the time the planes struck the WTC. |
I was to young to feel the real impact of 9/11 at the time. I just go about my normal life, and don't think about it. |

I was in fifth grade in my social studies class when I first heard about it. I live in New York (state) and both my parents worked for the state, so they got to go home. We watched our local NBC channel for the rest of the night. That is what happened on that day to me. |
I was in 6th grade I remember suddenly one teacher went from classroom to classrom telling what happened and for the rooms that had tv to put the news. Another of my teachers, my social studies, was preocupied because his brother was working there, he called him but no respose, hours later he got a message that he was okay :) my spell checker is not working for some reason, sorry for the grammar errors :/ |

I don't remember it.. But it still saddens me that these towers are gone. I was in first year of school so too young.. Wish I was older. I do not understand anything about this trouble thats happened in the last 10 years.. Inside job, oil or was it in-fact the 9/11 attack? I really don't have a clue.. The one thing I hate the most is how human beings are able to carry out such attacks.. On the WTC I mean.. What are we meant to believe anyway? What the government tell us or what seems sensible? Not trying to get any hate from my post.. Just airing my views. |

Not a duplicate - ageekmom asked where you were, while I asked how you remember it each year. Check again :P
