Do you game with headphones or speakers? If you game with headsets do you prefer open or closed ear designs?

Definately headphones. Especially for the Battlefield series. Helps you locate and track an enemy target aswell as your team and squadmates.

headphones are best because in some games you can hear other people approaching you. in my case i can hear people from a really far distance.

Personally I prefer to game with my 5.1 surround sound speaker setup its really nice and i think it even enhances my game play because I can hear stuff sneaking up on me from a distance lol.

Headphones, simply because of MW2 and footsteps. You can tell where the enemy is most of the time, and headphones sound sharper to me with quality. I use Turtle Beach X31's with a closed ear design to block out more noise of my surroundings and to hear more clearly.

I use Surround sound speakers during the day, and then a headset at night, so as not to annoy people

I like using headphones, most games are optimized for headphones, also I have a 5.1 speaker system and some games just suck for it.

The problem I have is some games have a wide range of loud and quiet sounds, if I put the volume at a level where I can hear everything, the moment an explosion happens or some other loud noises, the subwoofer goes crazy and it just bothers everyone in the house.

With headphones, I don't have to worry about that.

in game where you talk to you teammates headphones are better. if using speakers and a mic others can hear there own voice which and be annoying and distracting or other sounds in the room

For me it depends on the game, if theres a lot of cussing in a game i will most likely use headphones. But if its a "clean" game then I game on speakers.
