When you download a PDF form from a government agency you can basically fill in the blanks using your computer and also use the tab button to move to the next box/field/blank area instead of printing it and then filling it in with a pen. How can I create a PDF file so I can do that?

I created the form that I need using Open Office Writer and then saved it as a PDF. Then I tried to see if I could figure it out myself but so far no luck. I figured out that I could create boxes that I could write in but I couldn't use the tab button to switch to the next box.

The reason I want to do this is because I starting a business and often need to call others and find out information form them. I am a slow writer but I can type faster so I thought that would be a good way to speed up the phone calls.

PS: I have/use Foxit Reader if that helps.

You would have to purchase the software. PDF readers are free but the software to create them is not.

That sucks. I guess I'll have to wait until my company starts generating income

Setup a database, even Microsoft Access would do the job, but a web interface with a back end written in PHP and a MySQL database would be a better solution - if you're the one doing the entering, of course.
