I'm a first time player of World of Warcraft, and I have two characters at the moment, both within the parameters of level 10 to 20, and I am quite enjoying both of these characters, one being an alliance rogue gnome, the other being a horde paladin blood elf, I'm just wondering what classes and races you guys would recommend?

I recommend an Orc Death Knight or a Tauren Druid. My boyfriend has an Orc DK and does more DPS than me, and I have a Blood Elf DK. I used to play on the Alliance side with a Human Mage. However, nowadays I enjoy playing on the Horde side as a DK. I am currently leveling up my Tauren Druid. Those are my only two recommendations since I am not a WoW expert. ElitistJerks is a great site full of class and race recommendations. You will find detailed information on the best glyphs and talent points for your desired class, etc.

I'm a very casual, off and on type of World of Warcraft player (I frequently don't renew my subscription for 6 months or a year at a time,) but I've always enjoyed playing my primary toon -- an Alliance shadow priest, human. I hate healing n00bs and large groups, and I prefer to play solo these days since I don't have time to raid/dugeon run/team with a guild, so shadow priest is a terrific levelling and PVE (Player Vs. Environment, as opposed to Player Vs. Player) class and talent tree for me.
