Hello, everyone, my partition C: is often not enough to use, I want to extend partition, but I don't know how to do. A friend told me that partition Assistant Home Edition is useful and without cost. So I try it. As a result, I find it is excellent and easy to use. Here, I will share it with you, I hope it will give you a hand. |

If you are using Windows Vista or 7, there's already a partitioning feature built-in. |

I'm sorry, but I only know how to edit partitions on a Mac. I answered so that your question would get more recognition, and maybe find the answer that you are looking for. |

What was the point of this, there was no question asked. |

gpart is a free, open-source bootable partition editor that I can recommend. Just keep in mind: resizing partitions is extremely safe. Moving them is where you get the problems! I suggest defragmenting every partition that'll be operated on before resizing it. The result will be a large speed-up in the partition editing process and a lot less potential for disaster. I recommend partitioning C: so that it uses at most 20% of your hard drive, and the remaining however you feel necessary. That way your OS gets the quickest part of the drive, and you won't have to defragment it as often to get the best of paging. 20% could vary greatly from drive to drive. It would be best to do double the recommended size of the recommended allotment the OS is asking for, and that's if you're not installing anything large with it. Might as well put your programs in the C: directory since when you reinstall you'll lose the registry, too, and have to reinstall them anyway. |
