A normal piece of paper (like the ones that you print on) is 8.5 x 11 inches.

Normal paper in the U.S. is called "Letter" which is 8.5" x 11".

just to warn you your printer most likely cannot print to all of the edges of the paper but it might cover all but the very bottom like 1/2 inch.

I thought 8.5 x 11 was a very commonly known thing... It's even printed on the outside of a bundle of paper!
