I bought an HTC Wildfire and I was wondering if the screen on it is scratch resistant? I have a screen protector but is there a great need for it?

It seems that the wildfire's screen is made of gorilla glass. Gorilla class is scratch resistant but not scratch proof like some people think. My motorola droid has gorilla glass and it did get some scratches from everyday use, throwing it in the pocket, occasionally dropping it etc... you should definitly keep a screen protector on it. Its easier to replace a scratched screen protector than a scratched screen.

Great! Exactly the response I was looking for! I shall research this glass. Thank you.

Definitely do not want to learn it the hard way. I always use a screen protector. Scratches are very ugly, and phone stays clean.
