I have a topic for debate that should prove interesting here (and give me a few cards along the way... hehe). The topic is: "Resolved: NATO presence improves the lives of Afghan citizens." For those of you who are debate-fluent, it's a PFD topic for October. It is a resolved topic, so Aff/Neg cases. Let me know what you think. By the way, the tournament is on the ninth of Oct. So if you could get your answers to me by then, I'll let you know. |

Oh no, I'll comment for you . This one I like. I don't give a damn about Afganistan, its people or thier sheep and goats.Ummm, thier opium and lapis is valuable but thats besides the point. We now have 5 thousand mothers, fathers, wives, husbands and thier children, forever changed because someone they cherished came home in a box. Not cool, Bones. Why? because George W. Bush pulled up his drawers, grabbed his cowboy boots and hollered "YeeHI, let's go get 'em boys". Moron. I like the Israeli approach better. You toss a pebble at us,and you guys can forget about the politics, expect a series of boulders to come flying through the air. I am not into the fair fighting BS. No power, not a single one in 750 years, has subdued those people. The Idiana Raj failed, The Brits barely escaped with thier lives, the Soviets bleed to death and gee, our guys are doing the same stuff - i think that's the definition of insanity, right? These are illiterate, tribesmen, happy with thier lives. To hell with them. The Taliban and Islamic terrrists want to play games in Afganistan and Pakistan, fine with me.Let's do this the easy,cost-effictive way. Let's sit a carrier or a couple of frigates offshore and pop 'em with cruise missiles and drones everytime they breathe heavy or a ram farts. |

I think that this is the right thing to do. I think that yes there are people that are over in Afghanistan that are fighting because of the 9/11 as states earlier, but I do still think that there is not much that can be done. That there are somethings that just can not be changed. I do not agree that there are some things that can be changed and those things are not being changed. |

OK so far the question asked actually hasn't even been addressed yet. "Does NATO presence improve the lives of Afghan citizens?" Well I think yes and no at the same time. No because:
Yes because:
Unfortunately until the terrorists leave or NATO and the Afghan Government gains control things will be the same for a while. I do not think that we should just get up and leave them in that mess either. It's a sad truth... |
...What exactly did Fogarty change here?
Oh, I see. The tags.
