What Is a Content Delivery Network? How does it work? |
|
Essentially, it's a bunch of servers holding the same data spread across the geographic network in order to provide content faster to you. Instead of getting a resource from Russia (for instance), you could get it much faster from within your own country, or at least the nearest server. So, instead of everyone using the bandwidth of a centralized server, the traffic load is inherently decentralized across multiple servers.
