It got me thinking about people who download movies, games and software. I understand that most people don't have money to get good software so they download it, or people that download movies burn them and sell them off to people that wants to watch the latest movies with out having to leave there home.

Anyways I was thinking could torrenting be an addiction? Because you got all that software and movies and games all at your finger tips? Or is it just because it's free? A money saver should I say. lol

I read an article once about someone that even admitted to being addicted to downloading torrents, do not recall where I saw it, he said that he had so much content that he could never watch it all as continued to download more, moved away from Comcast because their 250GB a month limit was too small. I would call that an addiction.

Bloody hell that's mad. Torrents are just a quick and dirty way of getting what you want. People try to scare people saying that you can download a torrent but if you download the wrong kind of torrents then you will just be bombarded with Viruses and Trojans. Torrents can be safe if you know what your doing and if you have a good A.V.

i wouldn't say addicted, but you can depend on it too much, i use to use it for everything, but i have broken away now,i used to have cracked cs5, my school gave us all a copy, cracked windows 7, i bought one, and cracked office, but I bought pro plus 2010, some of my other software is cracked still though. i am however 14, so i dont have much cash flow, and the industry is not losing out, because i would not be buying it otherwise. not saying that makes it right, but still

You know they say that it's all just excuses for your reasons for Torrenting and d/ling music, movies etc, but when you live in a small country town thats at least 2 hours away from the nearest Movie Theatre and/or music store, then torrenting is the only way to go. A lot of people I know don't trust buying movies/music over the internet, especially when using a credit card. And not everyone wants to use iTunes to purchase their music.

But on the other hand, it would be great for when the day comes that we don't have the need for currency and just be able to listen/watch what we want and not worry about it being illegal.
