Laptop power button problem...

This morning I tried to turn on my laptop. I pressed the power button like normal. Nothing happened. So then I plugged it in. Nothing happened when I pressed the power button. Next I removed the battery. And I pressed the power button again and it turned on. What do you think happened?

If the computer is still under warranty, you can get the battery replaced. Also, check your computer website to see if your battery is under a recall since we had one several years back. Also, take it to a computer store and see if they can test the battery for you to see if the battery is good or maybe dead. Try those...

I was able to turn it on after I removed the battery and put it back in several seconds later.

My guess would be that the battery wasn't connected properly or something of the sorts. The good things is that you fixed the issue! Happy computing.

I never remove the battery. The last time I did was about months ago.
