Does anyone know of any third party software for the mac that would allow me to set up an automated phone service using Skype. If I'm not around to answer a Skype call, I want my computer to be able to answer and say "I'm sorry, no one is available to take your call. To leave a message, press 1. If this call is urgent, press 2 and we'll take your call as soon as possible, or to try another line, press 3." If they press 1, it goes to voice mail. If they press 2, I want the call to be put on hold (possibly playing music) for 2 minutes and if I'm not back by then, I want the message to repeat. If they press 3, I want Skype to forward the call to a different number (my cell phone). How hard could it possibly be to accomplish this? Software already exists that can recognize a DTMF tone, control functions within Skype, record audio from Skype, and play audio into Skype, separately. I find it hard to believe that no one has thought to make software like this. It seems like a pretty useful productivity tool for a small business.

Its probably better just to buy a number off a company and use one of the many VoIP applications that offer this by default. My dad has that same thing set up on his PC, I'm sure there is Mac versions and there is iPhone versions of the same thing. |
