Why should I use dual monitors when Ubuntu already has multiple desktops?

I notice a great increase in productivity when I have multiple monitors.

Consider how much time you spend navigating from window to window. It adds up, but it can be cut in half by having multiple windows open on separate monitors.

its a fantastic experience to use them. i cant say this. anybody that has ever used them after getting used to it they cant stand returning to a single monitor system. i know i can't. its one of those things that cant really be truly answered until you have experienced it yourself. so go to a custom computer shop and spend an hour on a dual system . after that see how weird it feels to jump back to a single. you will want those duals from that point on i can promise you that. ask anybody that uses them. they will tell you the same. once you start using them you just cant go back.

monitors you can view at the same time while virtual desktops are only for use when you don't need to see a program all the time. But getting the risk to forget that the programs are actually running!

You can the use dual view, so you can drag windows from one monitor to the other, it helps with space, so you don't have to keep minimizing things.

It's better for multi-tasking. You can have you're email up on one screen while you're on Facebook on the other screen. It's just a better use of your computer's performance.

But as you said, Ubuntu does have workspaces which is another way to have extra monitors. I love the idea of workspaces. I use it all the time on my Mac.

it maximizes your work space. I would keep everything I am working on the primary monitor and all the emails, chattings, and other things that I don't need to look at every second of my life on the secondary monitor.
