I bought my Macbook earlier this year, and now I'm wondering when It's necessary to upgrade to a new machine. When exactly is the best time to buy a new computer? Do laptops get outdated faster than desktops? Hope the community can give me a good answer.

Laptops generally do get outdated a year or so earlier than desktops. I suggest that you replace your laptop two-three years for a normal PC, and three to five years if it is a Mac. Another way to bring life back into an old PC is if you install a Linux distribution on it (Macs tend to stay faster longer from what I've experienced).

4 years if you can wait, but unless you have to, 2-3 years is prime

As I was typing this, I just realized that 2 and 3 are prime numbers!
