What language(s) do you think are important to learn these days? you all know we live in a world where there are people that have learned at least 3 languages, so what languages do you think are good for finding a job, daily life etc. PS currently know: Spanish, English a lil of Japanese and took courses of Italian. |

Coming from an American citizen standpoint... "This is America! We speak English, learn it or get out!". And that's my philosophy. About 99% of all Americans, (not an actual fact, from my point of view), speak English. I don't see a reason to take these Spanish classes and stuff if I'm never going to use it in my whole life. I will probably never have to speak or do some kind of deal with someone who speaks Spanish. All I'll ever need to know how to say is "No hablo espanol". You are not America. America is a continent. You are US of America (meaning PART OF). You'll miss out on a lot of opportunities with that way of thinking. 1
ahhh what's wrong with knowing Spanish? It's my first language u know. Yeah mine too and we both know English, so I find very uncool that some US English speakers talk like they are looking down on any other language that's not theirs, especially Spanish. @Alekz Actually you are wrong. America is a country, America, is short for United States of America. North America and South America are continents. America, Canada, Mexico, etc., are countries. 1
You can get paid so much more just by taking spanish in high school

English, HTML and C#. Formal language would be helpful, too. |

Spanish, English, Japanese. I know English (obviously), and I have a GCSE in German and I'm doing another GCSE in Spanish now. So I could have two GSCE, one in English and another in Italian? Yep if you've done an exam at school and passed it :D |

The majority of people out there seem to go with PHP or JAVA, but if you check the job boards you'll find that C# and VB.NET pay much better. Like twice as much. Also notice that COBOL programmers are retiring and dying of old age, so they're in high demand to the tune of six figures. You didn't say they had to be spoken languages. |

Sad to say, but there are a good number of people with bad grammar, spelling, and low vocabulary. I feel those individuals should learn their native languages first, then tackle other languages.

Depends on where you're living. If you plan on living your entire life in the USA then just learn Spanish and English. |
