Yes, since 1994, and I still do all my web development in a basic text editor. I am learning html now. I find it fun. :) I only have to memorize code. :D ageekmom ♦, what HTML editor are you using for working in HTML? I used to use Allaire Homesite on the PC (dating myself; it got bought my Macromedia before they killed the product entirely.) I alternate between BBEdit and TextWrangler on my Mac, although I have others. On the PC side, these days, I'm usually just doing quick and dirty edits so I just open up Notepad or Word Pad. I prefer (read: am spoiled by) syntax highlighting when I'm doing more serious development work. Thanks I was looking for HTML editors, checking them as I type. Try KompoZer. I use it at school. There are plenty of free ones, I'm just keen on BBEdit & TextWrangler because they're essentially Homesite clones for the Mac, at least in terms of functionality. I prefer editors with beefy multiple search and replace capabilities since I'm maintaining a bunch of legacy websites that haven't migrated into the database era yet.

Yeah all the time I use Aptana Studio for coding and Firebug for debugging. :) |

Yeah. I started with a bit of PHP and then realized I needed to learn HTML first so I started to learn HTML. Now I code lots of Wordpress templates using PHP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and a few more languages. I'm going to open a Wordpress template store this winter. |
