Airport security will likely ask you to remove the laptop from your bag if it's with your carry-on luggage. They shouldn't give you any trouble beyond that. However, since it is a long flight, I hope you're taking along an adapter to plug it in to the power outlets on the plane, if you plan on using it during the flight.

Attendants will ask you to leave your laptop off until the plane has taken off, and you will also have to turn it off before landing. There isn't much to it beyond that. If the plane has in-flight Internet access, awesome, but that's unlikely so you'll probably be better off turning off the wireless features of the laptop.

That highly depends on the airline. Check ahead of time. The outlets on the seats are not standard domestic outlets.
