How do I record HD TV content like a DVR using a Windows base computer? Note: My cable provider (Suddenlink) uses Motorola cable boxes. I want to be able to record and edit the material into files for future viewing.

Get either an internal TV tuner card or an external (USB) TV tuner box, where one end you plug your coax cable into and the other is either hardwired (tuner card) or USB (box). Then find some software (I think even Windows Media Center might be able to do it) to capture the video from the cable.
