I have a MacBook Pro running... well, duh, Snow Leopard. And I have a computer I built that runs Vista 64-bit. Both are running Blender 3D, although one is 2.48a and the other is 2.49b. Is there any way I could set up both into a render farm configuration? I've tried, without success. How do I do it? Both have WiFi, the desktop through a USB adapter. And I have a few Ethernet cables lying around.

My experience with render farms is limited to an app called Bryce and on Windows only, but it did work across a few different versions of Windows. All you should need is the server IP address and a place to enter it from each client.

"without success" doesn't explain much. Does the app have the option to connect to a render server? Do you get an error message? Do you have a render server set up at all?
