Where can I download a virus?

No I ain't crazy but I want to know where I can download a virus. I'm not tending to use it on anybody or myself. It's for my virtual machine. I have some programs and live cds I want to test out.

I don't want Trojans horses. I want a virus where it really messes up the operating system.

This one doesn't bring any harm to the computer but is designed to be used to test anti-virus. http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm I would like to know this as well to test out antivirus software so that I know what the best one to recommend is.
