I've owned a 32GB iPhone 3G S for almost a year now. Just today I dropped it... and it.. broke. It turns on etc but the home button doesn't function. I need to replace it. I'm pretty sure warranty won't cover it because it wasn't a defect, but rather a... well break. Can I still get a 32GB iPhone 3GS without paying for contract cancellation? (Do they still make them). If I replace it with an iPhone 4 will I still have to pay the upgrade fee? ($200). Mistakes happen, but am I going to be forced into an iPhone 4 upgrade? (with all the fees attached). I can't get to ATT/Apple for a day or two. Anyone know?

Since everything still works but the home button, go to the phone app and dial *639# to check your upgrade eligibility.

Sorry, but your only choices are either to pay the $150 for a new 3GS or $200 for an iPhone 4. I'm sure there's a way to check if you're eligible for an upgrade I just don't remember how.

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well.
