If you don't already know John Sculley was the person who took over as Apple's CEO when Steve Jobs, was for lack of a better term, canned and he obviously left Apple in a horrible postion when Steve Jobs returned in 1997. So how many years do you think that Sculley set Apple back.

The Apple, Inc. consumer demographic is very Cult like, and normal logic doesn't apply in many cases. When Steve Jobs leaves, the company suffers?!? It doesn't matter who's filling his shoes. John Scully had some great ideas, but those strategies apparently didn't apply to Apple, Inc?!?

  • Open Software/Hardware Architecture
  • Mac Clones which had better specs than, an actual Mac
  • etc.

I predict that Apple, Inc. needs to re-evaluate those strategies to grow. Otherwise, they'll just have to be happy with their < 20% share of the pc market. Google's Android & Chrome are coming on strong, even surpassing Apple, Inc. in certain markets. Microsoft better kick it in gear soon, or they'll be playing catch up behind everything Google.

Even though, at the time, it was something that put Apple back a few years, I think that it has made the company even more advanced.

I was only alive at the end of all of this, and it's way to hard for me to remember. I know that they didn't advance as much as Steve Jobs wanted, but since he wasn't even with Apple, it was kind of hard to change something. I think that it also had a lot of benefits as well. Pixar is a wonderful company that I think wouldn't be as advanced as they are today without Steve Jobs.

Also, if Steve Jobs stayed with Apple, they wouldn't have been such a creative company that they are today. When Steve was fired, he thought in a more creative way. He spent the time that he had to do things that would help advance technology to the point that it's at today. Fonts are something that many people overlooked, but when Steve was unemployed, he thought of different fonts and how it could change the way things were displayed to you. It could also set the mood of a message just be changing the font a little bit.

Even though there was a huge amount of cons, I believe that the pros outweighed it. Think of civilization today if that one man hadn't been fired. Computers might still be beige.
