WARNING: After accidentally deleting files from a memory card, do not attempt to copy additional files onto the card before attempting file recovery as this will overwrite the files and make them much more difficult if not impossible to recover.

Possible, yes. Easy? Not always.

My camera is slightly..... dumb.... and thinks it has to format over the picture when you delete it. But most cameras will just do like an OS would do with a deleted file. It will tell itself it isn't there anymore, when it actually is.

I use TuneUp Utilities 2010 and there is an app in it called TuneUp UnDelete. I have been able to recover an entire 8GB memory card full of video by using it, but it took forever.

The most important thing to do is to never write to the card after you deleted the picture you want back. The more you write to it, the more chances there are that it will write over the picture, thus making it even harder to get back.

I have used several good undelete utilities in the past, such as Recuva, Test Disk, and PC Inspector File Recovery, but my current favorite is Mini Tool Power Data Recovery. And they all support recovering files from camera memory cards.

connect the camera or the memory card to the computer the program is installed on.

then just use Recuva on the drive to recover the files.
