Is there a program that can backup the names of all of my programs?

Try Ccleaner (piriform.com), it has an option on it's uninstall feature (found under tools) to "save to a text file". This has a list of everything installed : ) hope it helps. See below:

everest can do it http://www.lavalys.com/support/downloads

while it is paid, there is a trial. it will list all installed software and any serial numbers for them and also everything else about the hardware and software for your PC.
