I have a Belkin (No idea what the model is. Doesn't appear to be on the router anywhere) wireless router, and I can't seem to access the settings. I enter the IP Address into my web browser, but all I get is "This Web Page is not available"

I have tried it on both Mac OSX, and WIndows 7, but I get the same thing.

Here's the router, if that can somehow help....

Logging into the Router

You will see the Router’s home page in your browser window. The home page is visible to any user who accesses the Router via 192.168.2.1. To make any changes to the Router’s settings, you have to log in. Clicking the “Login” button or clicking on any one of the links on the home page will take you to the login screen. The Router ships with no password entered. In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the “Submit” button to log in.

I found my exact router, but the troubleshooting doesn't offer my problem. :(

I know that, but the thing is, I can't bring up that page. My browser just says that the webpage is unavailable.

When in doubt, Reset to factory default =0p...

  • Power off
  • Find toothpick or paperclip
  • Located Reset Button Hole on Router
  • Hold in Reset Button while Powering up {30 Seconds or so}

Enjoy!

*** Make sure to update to latest firmware

I don't think I have ever turned it off, or put it on stand-by since I bought it...

try letting it rest some time, I fix it like that. Since you have internet I don' t think is the modem.

My router's...?

If you are in Windows 7. Go to Computer, Network, and your router should be there. Right-click on it and then click on "go to device webpage". If this doesn't work, try going to the Belkin site or www.portforward.com, which has the default IP addresses, usernames, and passwords for many different routers.

Did you make sure that you are going to the router address, Belkin is 192.168.2.1 (not 1.1)

That's the exact address I was using...

(Oct 18 '10 at 20:47) Justin Justin's gravatar image

may want to use some IP scanning tool to see what is the router number then. something like this

http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-IP-Scanner/3000-2085_4-10115592.html?tag=mncol;4

Then scan all of the 192.168 sections

(Oct 18 '10 at 20:52) kevin ♦♦ kevin's gravatar image

The IP Address is deffinitly 192.168.2.1 The site r0bErT4u linked me to told me that. But I still can't bring up the settings, and the site doesn't seem to offer any troubleshooting for this problem...O.o

(Oct 18 '10 at 20:56) Justin Justin's gravatar image

Someone must had changed it, so use that tool to find it..

It looks like pinging to it will not get you there.

r0bErT4u gave me a very simple fix, that worked.

Thanks for your help, anyway!
