What free web host do you, the community, recommend to host a website of mine. I am planning to run a new tech website/blog so I thank you all for helping me out

I'm afraid I do not personally know of any contemporary free website hosting providers. I got my start in web development when a local ISP wanted a small site to help drive traffic to their hosting company; in exchange for generating traffic to their company, I received free web space. This is prior to **Geocities.com** (1994), which if you don't know, went offline in the past 12 or 24 months.
These days, there may still be some free web hosts like Geocities.com, but I'm not aware of them.
There are some ways to obtain web space but they don't really count as "free" because the web space is thrown is as part of some other service you're paying for -- like MobileMe or being a student at a university.

The BEST by far is Webs.com (was freewebs.com) I use this for my dog Khan's website (yes, my dog has a website too) www.MyBowl.net check it out. Webs has lots of templates and forms with no coding required. And, it is free. I also use Webs.com for our neighborhood's website (www.NorthWestLimaWoods.org) too. Also, I like and use Microsoft Live free web hosting (Yes, it's the M word) check out Techeads.org its hosted by Microsoft Live and their templates are easy to use too. For both of the above I purchased the domains at DomainsAndWebsites.net and forwarded to Webs.com and Microsoft so I didn't have to pay $35 per year for the domain names.
