What's Walmart doing to attract a certain demographic of society & WHY? | The 'Wierdness Factor' is off the charts. WTF? They congregate there?! Mutant Human Pheromones? Radiation Poisoning? Toxic Waste? Powerlines? Devil Worship? Human Inbreeding? KFC Mash Potato Gravy Shakes?
***People of Walmart*** is a comedy website that features user-submitted photos of overweight, poorly dressed, or awkward looking people shopping at Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer. The site has been promoted largely on sites like Digg and Funny or Die, and linked on Facebook and Twitter.

Wal-Mart, like any other major retailer, looks at the area's culture and adjusts it's items appropriately. For example, in areas populated by the Amish, there is no electronics department and hitching posts are provided in the parking lot to tether a horse.

I've heard that Walmart accommodates buggy parking where they want to attract Amish customers, but I doubt they omit the whole electronics department. Amish people are not their only customers.
As far as "People of Walmart" goes, yeah, weird people shop there. So do people who bring their small children in at all hours and drunks who try to buy more liquor just before the 2 a.m. deadline. (Funny cashier story there.) So do normal people. Normal people aren't fun to take pictures of, though, so the website attracts the weird photos and that's what you think is the norm.
