I imagine the brown "Google"(?) box, upper right hand side of many web pages, is some new feature that well, I'm just not interested in at this time and it feels like a pop-up to me, very distracting when I research. I'm not one for anything (social networking, etc.) which does not improve the features of the Internet that are important to me. I like Scroogle very much. How can I block these brown stains from loading? Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.6.10. Thank you in advance for the knowledge.

You can block unwanted items on a page using the Adblock Extension (Google it with the name of your browser for an install link). After it is installed, it automaticaly blocks most adverts and pop-ups. If the brown stain is still annoying you, you can remove it by doing the following:

Mr.Walker, thank you for taking the time to answer. I have "Ad-blocked" the first stain and I will search to see if this is per site or global. For now, things aren't looking so "brown". I salute you.
