Hi guys, I am running Mac OSX Snow Leopard (If that makes a difference), and I often run Windows 7 inside Parallels.

The problem I am having is this: When I boot up my mac from completely off, my RAM runs at 25% idle. And when I boot parallels and windows 7, the RAM consumption raises to between 70-75%. This is fine as I knowingly dedicate 50% of my RAM to the Parallels software. The problem I have is that when I shut down my virtual machine and close parallels, my RAM usage is still at 70-75% idle, until I restart OSX.

Does anybody have any ideas why parallels is not releasing this RAM back to OSX?

As a side note, I am running Parallels 5 and Windows 7 Ultimate. And both are completely legitimate versions of the software.

Many Thanks in Advance

Ben

Maybe it is running at normal speed, and it is an artifact/error. If so, it may be corrected by a latest update for Parallels 5. Google it.
