A local non-profit that I consult wants to install a backup soclution in response to a resent loss of data problem that they have encountered. They have a mixed envirnoment including a variety of laptops, desktops with both Apple and PC OSs (XP, Vista, and Win 7). I have a Time Capsule in my own work environment but it seems to be a bit "flaky" with Windows XP. I really think that they need to do a NAS solution so that they can do a "set it and forget it" because they really don't have a lot of highly technical people on their staff PLUS given the number of machines the amount of work involved it would take significant staff time to do it any other way...

So the question is...what is the best backup solution for a mixed operating system environment?

Thanks in advance for your response!!!

Qnap it's Linux based. Has timemachine support and can back itself up to the Amazon cloud.
