I just got a new windows computer and I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library to it. I used to be a Mac user, and I cannot for the life of me find where to access the external hard drive. Any suggestions?

My Computer is where you find everything. Try your start menu.

If it isn't connected properly it won't show up in your devices.

I don't know why it wouldn't be connected properly. It's plugged in to the wall and is connected to the notebook via a USB port.

Does it have a switch on the back. I know that sounds dumb, but sometimes I forget to flip the power switch in the back.

Ya it does and it's on. It's glowing blue so I know for a fact that it's powered up. It even makes the sound when you plug it into the computer. It shows up under my devices, but I can't access any of the files :/

Have you put anything on the external HD before or is this the first time booting it?

I used it with my old computer plenty of times.

Hmmm...the only thing I can think of doing is turn everything off. Then turn on the Ext HD and wait a minute. Then boot up your computer. Wait and see if it recognizes it.
